Inside the Classroom

Find a range of teaching materials to support classroom teaching and learning about the impact of the Second World War on the people who experienced it, and the places it affected. Included are a variety of lesson plans, primary sources from the collections of the Imperial War Museum, historical information, and guidance on learning with veterans, all available for free download.

Outside the Classroom

Find a range of resources to support teaching and learning outside of the classroom, including advice on working with museums, libraries and archives, tips for planning successful educational visits overseas, sample itineraries and risk assessment templates, all available for free download.
